KEY TAKEAWAYS
What visual updates do the GT 63 models get for 2023?
The visual updates include a redesigned front fascia as well as the addition of two new exterior colors. What performance updates did AMG give the GT 63 models?
The GT 63 models now get AMG Ride Control+ as standard. The front-end of the AMG GT 63 sports a redesigned fascia. The outer air intakes are now wider and more pointed toward the center of the car. This design allows the air to be channeled through three vertical fins to the radiators and slightly aids the vehicle’s performance.
In addition to the updates at the fore, Mercedes-AMG also adds two new color options to the GT 63: Starling Blue Metallic and Starling Blue Magno. Also new is the AMG Night Package II.
The interior of both the GT 63 and the GT 63 S also receives updates which include new colors and trims as well as a new AMG Performance steering wheel.
Performance-wise, the abovementioned GT 63 models benefit from the AMG Ride Control+, which now comes as standard. The said damping system uses two pressure limiting valves located outside the damper and allows the damping force to be adjusted even more precisely to different driving conditions and drive programs.
This technology, said AMG, makes it possible to increase comfort on the one hand, but on the other also to make the driving dynamics even sportier. As a result, passengers will enjoy better ride quality and are almost completely shielded from uneven road surfaces.
The driver can preselect the basic setup via the AMG Dynamic Select drive programs. At the touch of a button, the handling characteristics change, for example, from full dynamics in “Sport+” mode to smooth cruising in the “Comfort” setting. In addition, the tuning can be adjusted in three stages independently of the drive programs via a dedicated button.
Finally, 2023 models of the AMG GT 63 and GT 63 S can be had in a range of exclusive paintwork and high-quality interiors thanks to Merc’s customization program, Manufaktur.
