Mercedes-Benz, ic! berlin launch 4 models of prescription glasses

Mercedes-Benz and ic! berlin, a German eyewear company, teamed up to release four models of prescription glasses. According to Mercedes-Benz, the eyeglasses were “inspired by the flowing aesthetics of Mercedes-Benz vehicles.”

The German automaker also adds that the prescription eyeglasses were developed with extremely light, almost rimless frames and are characterized by sensuous lines and a very high level of wearing comfort.

“With the new collection, which also includes prescription eyeglasses for the first time, we are continuing our successful collaboration with ic! berlin. With the Mercedes-Benz versions, which like all ic! eyeglasses are characterized by their synthesis of materiality and functionality, the focus was on reduction as an expression of a new sense of luxury. Sensuous lines combined with incomparable wearing comfort achieved through low weight represent for us the translation of modern luxury into the world of eyewear,” said Mercedes-Benz Head of Creation Corporate Design Martin Bremer.

The first of the four-model eyewear collection for 2022 is the MB 07, which Mercedes-Benz dubs as “sporty meets filigree.”

The front of the MB 07 is round and sporty — despite its medium-sized, rectangular shape. The MB 07 guarantees utmost wearing comfort and completes the personal style of the wearer thanks to its essential filigree design elements.

Next is the MB 08, an everyday prescription eyewear that makes for a striking statement piece. Unlike the round and sporty MB 07, the MB 08 features a rectangular lens and an elegant top bridge. The front radiates an architectural decisiveness that combines with the other filigree elements to form a stylish unit.

The MB 09, on the other hand, is designed for those who want comfortable and lightweight eyeglasses. It features a wide frame with medium-sized lenses that are rectangular in shape with rounded, flat edges and a greater overall width. Comfort is delivered by universally adjustable nose pads and individually adjustable stainless steel temples. It also has TPE (thermoplastic elastomers) temple ends and a lightweight stainless steel frame.

Last in the collection is the MB 10. The prescription eyeglasses boast a refined, almost weightless design with a six-millimeter slim screwless spring hinge temple, elegant filigree accents, and Mercedes-Benz Star lasered into the temple of the eyewear.
