Auto Nation Group (ANG) continues to move forward with its sustainable mobility thrust by bringing in the 5th-generation C-Class to the local market.
Touted as the “Baby S,” the luxury compact sedan’s newest version carries the latest technologies and styling elements that are found on the flagship S-Class.
“The C-Class has raised the bar of the luxury compact executive sedans. It’s where Modern Luxury meets driving dynamics, human-centered innovations, and all that in a good looking form that you would fall in love with, once again,’’ ANG Chief Operating Officer Frankie Ang said.
The newly revealed model is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that has a maximum churn of 170hp and 250Nm of torque and an electrified drivetrain with EQ boost mild-hybrid technology. The system is similar to the one seen in the S-Class, which was introduced early last quarter of 2021.
The Integrated Starter Generator and 48-volt power supply is capable of providing an additional 20hp and 200Nm more torque. The rear-wheel-drive model's engine is matched to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission that guarantees smooth gear shifts, reduced fuel consumption, and quiet running engine.
Compared to its predecessor, the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is 65mm longer, 45mm wider with its ground clearance higher by 7mm and wheelbase longer by 25mm, which contributes to a roomy cabin and improved driving dynamics.
Further, the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is fitted with a redesigned front bumper with a single-louver grille that accentuates the prominent three-pointed star logo. It complements the updated headlight (with daytime running lights) housings and the pronounced powerdomes on the bonnet.
The vehicle sits on 18-inch multi-spoke light-alloy wheels that are on run-flat tires.
The all-new Mercedes Benz C-Class’ rear end resembles that of the E- and S-Class as the former is designed with two-section tail lamps.
Inside the cabin, occupants are set to enjoy more luxuries that are also found on the S-Class. It comes with a generous leg- and headroom, front seats that have memory function settings (for up to three people) and four-way lumbar support to improve comfort and ergonomics.
Moreover, the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class has 64-color ambient lighting as well as Thermatic dual-zone automatic climate control with activated charcoal filter.
The cockpit is equipped with a 11.9-inch floating central display touchscreen (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability) and a 10.25-inch free-standing full digital instrument display.
The car comes with the latest-generation NTG7 MBUX multimedia system that can be operated via the “Hey Mercedes” voice command system or through the multifunction steering wheel via touch control buttons.
Moreover, the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a suite of advanced safety and driver assistive technologies: standard seven airbags (inclusive of a two-stage deployment airbag for driver and passenger, side bags, window bags, and knee bag for the driver); blind spot assist, active brake assist, active parking assist, 12 ultrasonic sensors around the vehicle, reversing camera, and attention assist.
Currently available in a sole Avantgarde variant, the all-new Mercedes C-Class has an introductory price of P3.89 million. It is now available for viewing in all Mercedes-Benz showrooms at Bonifacio Global City, Edsa Greenhills, Alabang, and Cebu City.
Customers may also visit the company’s online showroom at www.mercedes-benz.ph to know more about the latest offering.
