Mercedes Benz PH now offers GLB premier subcompact crossover
Auto Nation Group (ANG), the general importer and distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, parts and accessories in the Philippines, has expanded its SUV lineup with the introduction of the all-new GLB to the local market.
The introduction of the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLB—the car that marks the eighth success story for Mercedes-Benz’s MFA (Modular Front Architecture)—was made via digital launch.
Powering this newly-introduced crossover is the efficient 1.3L inline 4-cylinder engine that provides up to 163 horsepower and almost 339 Nm of torque.
This vehicle has three driving options at a touch of a button with the Dynamic Select feature that adjust the engine, transmission, chassis and steering to suit one’s preference. The said options are:
- Sport: makes the vehicle more agile,
- Comfort: vehicle dishes out a balanced output
- ECO: ups the efficiency and fuel efficiency, thereby cutting cost on fuel
The exterior sports very dynamic lines, and can be fitted with an athletic package available through the AMG line, slapping some 19” 5 twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, side skirts, aluminium roof rails and AMG Body Styling to the body.
Just like every Mercedes-Benz model, the GLB merges comfort and design perfectly, thanks to its lengthy wheelbase of 2,829mm and overall sport SUV design inside-out. Also, the latest model has up to 1,680 liters of space to boot.
The all-new Mercedes Benz GLB is the first seven-seater in the brand’s compact car roster. The additional two seats at the rear, plus the ISOFIX and TOP-Tether anchorages, can hold four suitable child seats in the car.
The seats are covered with luxurious Black Artico Dinamica microfiber material.
Further, the all-new GLB has the intuitive Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) in-car personal assistant. The technology—which was first found in the A-Class back in 2018—can respond to your request and queries with its seven-inch standard central touchscreen controlled by touchpad on the center console, steering wheel controls and natural-language commands.
The newest offering from Mercedes Philippines has a whopping price tag of P3.79 million and is now available at all Mercedes-Benz dealerships namely the showrooms at Edsa Greenhills, Bonifacio Global City, Alabang and Cebu City.
During the Zoom Conference, ANG Sales and Marketing Assistant Vice President Rhomel Franco said that given the production constraints due to the pandemic, they are only targeting to roll out 30 units of the made-in-Mexico model towards the end of the year.
