Mercedes Benz Sprinter adds new diesel variant
Mercedes Benz's Sprinter Cargo Van now has a new 2.0 Liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine in its lineup.
Expected to arrive in dealerships late 2020, the new variant boasts an advanced powertrain that can grind 161hp and 361Nm of torque.
It also comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission that gives a powerful performance, making it a perfect accompaniment to anyone who wants to mix business and pleasure on the road.
The Cargo variant will now be part of Sprinter's versatile lineup of vans in the U.S. market. They include the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbo diesel Cargo, Crew, Passenger and Cab Chassis, and the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline Passenger, Crew and Cargo variants.
According to the German company, the 4-cylinder diesel Cargo Van will now come as a rear-wheel drive configuration offering various wheelbase choices, such as a 144" wheelbase standard roof along with a 170" wheelbase and 170" extended wheelbase high roof.
The 4-cylinder diesel variant sips fuel on the road, so no need to worry about wasting your money on fuel. It also has low emissions, with high torque and elasticity at low speeds.
Here's another thing to watch out for: Mercedes Benz's standard, new connectivity and telematics solution: the Mercedes PRO connect digital fleet solutions.
Aside from this, look for Keyless Start, brake hold functionality, charging capabilities with two USB-C sockets in the dashboard, a trailer hitch prep package, load-adaptive electronic stability program, all-season tires, an adjustable steering wheel with standard shift paddles and a metal load compartment floor.
Its innovative Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) multimedia system Mercedes PRO connect, offers a multitude of options, including rear-wheel or four-wheel drive variants, the versatile Sprinter offers diverse transportation solutions to meet the wide and ever growing range of needs of valued Mercedes-Benz Vans customers.
Since its market launch in 1995, the Sprinter continues to set the commercial van benchmark through top service levels, safety, and total cost of ownership (TCO). Now in its newest generation, it still blazes on to newer heights, driving innovation with the introduction of modern safety technologies in the large van segment.
