When will the Wallbox be released?
It will be released in Europe this April. Can the Wallbox charge EVs made by other manufacturers?
Yes, the Wallbox can charge other EVs with compatible charging ports.According to the German luxury car brand, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox can charge electric cars and plug-in hybrids fast, intelligently, and conveniently.
Outside, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox features a striking design that follows the principles of the Mercedes-EQ which makes it a statement piece for any garage or carport. The images released by the Stuttgart-based automotive company show the Wallbox wearing the three-pointed star pattern.
Inside, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox uses state-of-the-art technology to control the charging process, adapt the charging power to the charging process, and deliver up to 22kW in three phases. Mercedes-Benz said that this three-phase charging process makes filling up many times faster compared to that of a conventional household socket.
A multi-colored LED light on the wall-mounted charger indicates the current status of the charging process.
Integrated safety components in the Wallbox provide additional protection against fault currents for the vehicle, the house installation, and the Wallbox during charging.
The Mercedes-Benz Wallbox can charge all current and future Mercedes-Benz electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with the universal Type-2 connection in accordance with the IEC 61851-1 standard. Electric vehicles from other manufacturers can also be charged using the Wallbox.

Doing so allows owners to control the charging process of their vehicles, view the current charging status of the battery, and check the charging cost of their units.
Through the smartphone app, owners can also access an added layer of security by activating or locking the Wallbox.
Designed to be future-proof, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox is capable of receiving over-the-air software updates in the future. The Mercedes-Benz Wallbox is expected to be released in Europe by April. In Germany, the Wallbox will be priced at €990. There are plans to make it available in other markets.
