MG PH enjoys 49% sales spike in Sept.
MG Philippines has enjoyed a 49-percent increase in year-to-date sales after handing over 4,258 units to customers for the first nine years of 2021.
Aside from that, the local distributor of the British marque was able to roll out 725 units in September alone — the highest sales record for the company this year.
In a statement, MG Philippines attributed the strong performance to its two best-selling models, namely the MG 5 sedan and ZS Crossover sport utility vehicle.
For the full nine months of the year, the ZS Crossover SUV recorded a total of 2,979 units sold while 1,159 units of the MG 5 were delivered to customers, which reflected 67 percent and 51 percent growth, respectively, in comparison to their sales volume for the same period in 2020.
MG President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Alberto Arcilla said, “We are happy that MG Philippines successfully weathered the challenges brought about by the global pandemic, and achieved accelerated growth in sales performance over the past two years. This is a testament to the collective efforts and support of our principals at SMIL, the trust and commitment of our dealer partners, and the grit and experience of the TCCCI stewards. With these, MG Philippines was able to effectively adopt new and more efficient sales processes, implement exciting product offers, and execute marketing strategies that resulted in the brand’s continued growth and exceptional sales performance thus far in 2021.”
He added: “The wisdom and experience of the TCCCI board and management allowed MG Philippines to quickly pivot to the unique situation brought about by the pandemic. TCCCI acknowledges that the market’s appreciation is heightened by the inherent strengths of a heritage car brand like MG. With our exciting product offers, value-added aftermarket services, a growing nationwide dealership network, and the support from all our valued MG stakeholders—our clients, dealers, bank, and media colleagues—MG Philippines is able to achieve and sustain its sales projections and overall upward trajectory.”
Further, MG Philippines is eyeing to close the year 2021 on a positive note even further after with the recent introduction of the MG ZS T Crossover.
Expanding the roster of its ZS lineup, the MG ZS T is the first local model that wears MG’s updated global design language. Its powertrain is a new, turbocharged 1.3-liter engine that produces 160hp and 230Nm of torque.
“With the new ZS T by MG, what customers get is an upgrade of all the best features of the original ZS, headlined by a punchy and responsive turbocharged engine that provides power on tap when you need that extra boost on the road,” Atty. Arcilla noted.
Moreover, MG Philippines continues to offer enticing promo deals with the “10 for 10 with MG” promo.
“Expect low down payment options or generous cash discounts on all MG models until the end of the year, and free one-year periodic maintenance service (PMS) for select MG cars purchased from any of MG Philippines’ 39 accredited dealerships nationwide,” the company claimed in a statement.
