The leadership of MG Philippines said that it is planning to sell more than 3,840 units of the newly-launched HS in the country at a minimum for 2022.
In an interview, MG Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Alberto Arcilla disclosed that for the whole year, the company is planning to roll out 12,800 examples of all its offerings to the local market.
Out of the aforementioned goal, the chief of the Morris Garages’ local distributor said that he is looking forward to secure at least 30-35 percent of the company's overall vehicles sales with the newly introduced nameplate.
Arcilla expressed firm belief that the target is achievable because of the following factors: the vehicle is under the fast-selling category in the country, is generously fitted with numerous technologies, and is priced competitively.
“We are catering to all the needs and requirements of our clients: they need mobility, they want to feel good, and they need to spend wisely. So, we’re putting it all together in our offering,” Arcilla told Carmudi Philippines.
Given the goal for the MG HS, the five other models continuously marketed in the country (namely the crossovers ZS T, ZS and RX5, as well as the 6 and 5 sedans) will be sharing in the remaining 8,960 sales goal for the year.
Arcilla noted that the target market for the HS compact SUV offering are the young, progressive individuals or small families who like to go out of town on weekends or use the vehicle for daily commute.
The 2022 MG HS is fitted with an infotainment system that is compatible with both Apple Carplay and Android Auto, which is not present in some vehicles within the category. It also comes with driver assistive technologies such as blind spot detection system, tire pressure monitoring system, push start-stop functionality and electronic parking brake with auto hold.
Powering the 2022 MG Hs is a turbocharged 1.5-liter double overhead cam gasoline engine that can provide up to 167 horses and 250Nm of torque. It is paired to a seven-speed double-clutch sportronic transmission.
Further, the vehicle offers a “Super Sport '' mode option for a more exhilarating driving experience.
