Upon checking online, MG’s sole plug-in hybrid model is the PHEV version of the HS — a nameplate that was brought to the country in March 2022 but was discontinued shortly after.
While waiting for MG Philippines to formally announce what will be seen in its booth at the event, here are some details about the possibly-upcoming MG HS PHEV.
The said model — recently revealed at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed — is 4,670 millimeters (mm) long and 1,890mm wide with a 2,765-mm wheelbase.

For its cabin, the MG HS PHEV boasts two 12.3-inch high-definition displays (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-ready infotainment system and virtual driver display), wireless charging dock, a three-spoke steering wheel with improved switchgear, and a modern, shuttle-style gear shifter. Its boot capacity is up to 507 liters.
The MG HS PHEV is propelled by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine mated to a 154-kilowatt (kw) electric motor with a 24.7-kilowatt-hour battery and high-efficiency 67-kW generator. The electric mill allows the vehicle to reach 100 kilometers per hour from rest in around seven seconds and cover as much as 120 kilometers of emission-free range.
Further, the vehicle also has vehicle-to-load functionality, active emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, blind spot detection with lane change assist, driver attention alert, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, and door open warning — among other technologies.
The MG HS PHEV might be offered in White Pearl, Black Pearl, Sterling Silver Metallic, Hampstead Grey Metallic, and Dynamic Red Tri-coat hues.
