Geely Philippines returns to the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) stage to introduce the facelifted Coolray.
Newly-installed Sojitz G Auto Philippines President Chief Executive Officee Yugo Kiyofuji said that the appearance of the vehicle at the annual motoring event in the Philippines is the first time the refreshed subcompact sport utility vehicle (SUV) is released out of China.
As seen in the opener of MIAS’ four-day event, the 2022 Geely Coolray eschews the old expanding cosmos grille and dons a new honeycomb fascia. Obvious is the X-shaped section at the fore, reminiscent of the aggressive appeal of the outgoing model. The rear stuns with its quad exhaust pipes which seem to stick out from the bumper at the back. Its side profile is highlighted by five-spoke blacked-out alloy wheels with red brake calipers underneath.
Inside the new Coolray is a 12.3-inch infotainment system paired with a digital instrument cluster right past the D-shaped steering wheel. The stylish center console is lined with silver trims that further emphasize its modern look.
Under the hood is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline mill mated to either a five-speed manual tranny, a four-speed automatic slushbox, or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The powerplant reportedly makes 177 horses.
The new Geely Coolray will be on display at the brand’s booth at the 2022 MIAS from April 7 to 10 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
