Ford Philippines has launched the second-generation Territory in the local market.
The aforementioned model, which has grown bigger and is packed with more features, was revealed to the public at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2023. This comes three years after the highly-successful first-generation made its way in the country back in 2020.
The all-new Ford Territory is also built on the success that its predecessor enjoyed as the nameplate recently breached its 20,000-unit sales milestone locally.
Ford Philippines Managing Director Mike Breen expressed delight over the launch of the next-generation Territory, adding that the introduction was made “in response to the growing clamor and demand from our customers and enthusiasts.” “The next-gen Territory is a level-up SUV (sport utility vehicle) that complements the needs and lifestyles of Filipinos with its modern design and tech features that will let them own each driving moment and adventure,” he added.
Up front, the next-generation Ford Territory wears integrated honeycomb grille, signature daytime running lamps, and full LED headlamps.
Body lines are bolder compared to its predecessor and elements in the body as well as the rear of the vehicle emphasized three-dimensional floating graphics.
The vehicle sits on 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels depending on the trim and the higher-end version is fitted with a panoramic sunroof.
Inside, the next-generation Ford Territory is tailored with well-matched colors that creates a very relaxing ambiance. Adding to that are the 10-way power-adjustable driver seat and four-way manual adjustment for the passenger seat on the two available trims. Meanwhile, the top-spec option comes with ventilated leather seats.
Both variations are equipped with dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control that continuously check the air quality in the vehicle and maintain it at a healthy level for passengers.
Also, the next-generation Ford Territory comes with a large 12-inch central touchscreen, spread to the sides, incorporating a seven-inch or 12-inch digital instrument cluster. At the center console are the rotary e-Shifter, as well as the audio and other function controls.
Premium technological features that are found in the next-generation Ford Territory include the wireless charging dock, USB Type C and Type A charging ports, as well as the Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity and a windscreen-mounted USB port for a dashboard camera.
In terms of loading capacity, the next-generation Ford Territory is engineered with spacious storage compartments, and a big trunk that can hold up to 448 liters. In addition, the hands-free liftgate is also available for the crème-dela-crème version.
The vehicle is equipped with a 1.5-liter Ecoboost engine that can deliver up to 157.8 horsepower and 248 Newton-meters of torque mated with a seven-speed automatic transmission with wet-type Dual-Clutch engagement system. Four selectable drive modes namely Eco, Normal, Sport, and Mountain are present on both variants.
Further, the next-generation Ford Territory has a longer wheelbase at 2,726 millimeters (mm) and a higher ground clearance at 190mm.
Moreover, the suite of advanced driver-assist technologies of the next-generation Ford Territory guarantees enhanced driving experience active park assist, 360-degree camera, blind spot information system with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with stop and go (top-spec trim), as well as autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection
“The Next-Gen Ford Territory is a global product of Ford, and we utilized our expertise in developing SUVs to develop this model with the best combination of technology and comfort for confident driving,” Ford International Markets Group Product Development Director Iain Jones said.
Offered in two variations namely Titanium and Titanium X (priced P1.335 million and P1.599 million respectively), the next-Generation Ford Territory can be had in Blue Metallic, Lustrous Grey, Panther Black, Crystal Pearl White (exclusive to Titanium X), Ruby Red, and Star White (exclusive to Titanium). Both are packaged with a five-year warranty or up to 150,000 km, whichever comes first.
