GAC Motor Philippines wowed attendees of the 2023 Manila International Automotive Show (MIAS) when it launched the Emkoo sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the automotive expo.
The new Emkoo SUV expands GAC’s offerings in the Philippines and joins currently available models, namely the GAC GS8, GS4, GN6, and Empow.
“We continue to make headway with our plans since taking over the brand, driven by our line-up of vehicles that offer great value for money to our Filipino customers. We at Astara are proud to work with GAC Motor in bringing these exceptional cars renowned for their modern design, fine craftsmanship, superior build quality, and cutting-edge technology. We remain fully committed to reach more customers nationwide together with our growing dealer family.” said GAC Motor Head Jun Cajayon.
The GAC Emkoo SUV is built on the brand’s Global Platform Modular Architecture and is characterized by the marque’s pioneering styling, intelligent driving technologies, and high-efficiency drivetrains.
At the fore is a borderless V-shaped grille flanked by sleek LED-powered headlights and daytime running lamps.
Its side profile is highlighted by power side mirrors and windows framed by chrome and black trims, hidden door handles that pop out when activated, and a swooping diagonal angle that cuts across the passenger doors. It rides on 19-inch multi-spoke wheels.
To its rear are uniquely-shaped high-level brake lights, a pair of V-shape formation tail lights, and dual vertical twin exhaust pipes.
Inside, the GAC Emkoo gets a multi-function steering wheel, a 10.1-inch multi-functional touchscreen with Apple CarPlay integration, speed-based volume adjustment, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, and a keyless start button.
Power comes from a 1.5 GDI turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a quick-shifting, seven-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission.
The GAC Emkoo is offered in two variants: GE and GL. They are priced at P1.413 million and P1.553 million, respectively.
