The first day of the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2023 kicked off yesterday. And for those who missed the opening day, here are some of the highlights of the automotive expo.

MIAS 2023 served as the perfect venue for the launch of the next-generation Ford Territory. The compact crossover, which has grown in stature and features, is offered in two variants: Titanium and Titanium X.
That said, the Trend variant — pulled out by the local arm of the Blue Oval brand last year — is no longer offered.
Ford Philippines also previewed the next-generation Ranger Raptor during the first day of the event, although the company has not confirmed when the variant will land on Philippine shores.
Geely previews the GX3 Pro
And while we’re on the topic of previews, Sojitz G Auto Philippines also wowed attendees after it teased one of its forthcoming models, the Geely GX3 Pro.
Reportedly coming to the Philippines in mid-2023, the Geely Geely GX3 Pro is expected to compete against the likes of the Toyota Raize.
Jetour presents Ice Cream EV
Jetour, a brand that made its debut in MIAS 2023, showcased its offerings. The Ice Cream electric vehicle (EV) in particular, was immediately catching the attention of event-goers.
The Jetour Ice Cream EV is yet another addition to the growing list of available EVs on the market. It is also expected to become one of the most affordable options for early adopters, thanks to its P699,000-price tag.
Peugeot teases e-2008
Speaking of EVs, Peugeot — the famed automotive brand from France — previewed the e-2008 electric sport utility vehicle (SUV).
According to the Lion brand, the Peugeot e-2008 gives Filipino fans a glimpse of the marque’s upcoming electrification initiative for the market.
GAC launches the Emkoo SUV
GAC Motor Philippines, a company that is also operated locally by Astara, launched the Emkoo SUV.
The stylish and futuristic automobile is offered in two variants: GE and GL. They are priced at P1.413 million and P1.553 million, respectively.
Alongside the GAC Emkoo was the Empow GE. The top-of-the-line GE variant features 18-inch alloy wheels, paddle shifters, power-folding mirrors, and a full suite of advanced driving assist systems and safety features.
Hyundai promises better EVs with Ioniq 6
Hyundai Motor Philippines displayed the Ioniq 6 at the brand’s pavilion.
The soon-to-be-retailed Hyundai Ioniq 6 will have a sticker price of around P4 million.
ZS Nite Edition revealed by MG
Not to be outdone, Morris Garages (MG) launched the ZS Nite Edition. The newest trim of the brand’s crossover SUV flaunts blacked-out appointments outside. It stickers for P1,018,888.
Subaru showcases updated Evoltis
Subaru, for its part, showcased the updated Evoltis. Priced at P3.78 million, the spruced-up iteration wears new appointments.
Mitsubishi flaunts 60th Anniversary Edition Xpander Cross
Fans of the Three-Diamond brand were in for a treat as Mitsubishi revealed the 60th Anniversary Edition Xpander Cross. Built from the range-topping Xpander Cross, it dons special exterior equipment.
Additionally, Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Inc. showcased the classic Pajero and Lancer models in its booth.
Gearheads may still visit aforementioned eye-candies as the motoring is until tomorrow (April 16).
