MIAS 2023: Hyundai to offer Ioniq 6 in PH soon

The award-winning Ioniq 6 will be retailed in the country within the year, Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) confirmed.

The confirmation came after the South Korean automaker’s local arm previewed the vehicle at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2023.

HMPH noted that the aforementioned model will be officially launched by the middle of the year and priced at around P4 million.

The nameplate, which took the center stage of the brand’s booth in the four-day exhibit, is the recipient of this World Car of the Year recognition.

To note, the soon-to-be-retailed Ioniq 6 is built on the brand’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) that ensures better stability and handling.

Powering the forthcoming offering is an electric motor that allows the vehicle to reach a top speed of 185 kilometers per hour (kph) and jumps from 0-100 kph in 5.1 seconds. The mill is mated to a battery system, giving the vehicle a range of up to 545 kilometers.

Further, the vehicle supports both 400- and 800-volt charging systems, which boosts battery life from 10 percent to 80 percent in just under 18 minutes.

Driver assistive features that are available in the Hyundai Ioniq 6 include the navigation-based smart cruise control, highway driving assist, remote smart parking assist, among others.

When it becomes available, the Ioniq 6 will be retailed alongside the Ioniq 5 — which directly competes to its sister from another mother, the Kia EV6.

Currently, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is being retailed for P3.068 million for the two-wheel-drive standard range trim, and P.3.698 million for the long-range option. The vehicle is packaged with a five-year or 200,000-km vehicle warranty; eight-year or 160,000-km battery warranty; and free preventive maintenance service for five years or 75,000-km; whichever comes first, as well as 7.4-kilowatt-hour AC wall charger.
