Jetour — one of the newest brands that form part of the local automotive landscape — has made its debut at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
The Chinese carmaker has displayed its offerings, including the Ice Cream electric vehicle (EV).
Some of the noticeable exterior features of the EV include adjustable halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, a pair of cornering lamps, manual side mirrors, power windows, steel rims, halogen taillamps, a high-mount stop lamp, and rear fog lamps.
It rides on 12-inch wheels.
Inside, the Jetour Ice Cream features fabric seats, a multi-functional steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a decent infotainment system.
Power comes from permanent magnet synchronous motors paired with a lithium-ion battery. On paper, this setup makes around 26 horsepower (hp) and 58 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. It is said to be capable of reaching more than 100 kilometers per hour.
Estimated driving range is approximately 120 to 170 kilometers.
Alongside the Jetour Ice Cream are other models from the brand, namely the Dashing and the X70 Plus.
Notable features of the Jetour Dashing include a host of LED lights, a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch Sport wheels, a 12.8-inch infotainment system, a leather-wrapped multi-functional steering wheel, and leather seats, to name a few.
It is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged mill mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that generates 153 horses and 230Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the Jetour X70 Plus’ noteworthy appointments come in the form of a large front grille, typical of sport utility vehicles (SUV) in the same class; a panoramic sunroof; 20-inch aluminum alloy rims; roof rails and a roof rack; a 10.25-inch infotainment display; a 10.25-inch instrument cluster; a multi-functional steering wheel swathed in leather, and seats finished in the same leather material.
Under its hood is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline powerplant paired with a six-speed wet clutch transmission. According to Jetour, it puts out 156hp and 230Nm of pulling power.
To note, the Jetour X70 Plus is the model of choice for the brand’s new ambassadors, the Kramers. Power couple Doug and Cheska Kramer along with their kids Kendra, Scarlett, and Gavin are the new promoters of the Chery Holding-owned brand.
“We've always been on the hunt for an efficient, sporty seven-seater while being mindful of our budget. The Jetour X70 Plus ticks all these boxes, and the interior looks amazing. We couldn't be happier with our decision,” Doug Kramer said.
The partnership between Jetour and Team Kramer will include various digital and traditional marketing campaigns, including social media, out-of-home, and print advertisements.
“The partnership with Team Kramer marks an exciting new chapter for Jetour. Our line of vehicles offers a unique blend of cutting-edge technology, sleek design, and unparalleled performance. We are confident that Team Kramer will help us bring these vehicles to the forefront of the automotive industry. Their ability to inspire and connect with audiences nationwide is unparalleled, and we believe that their influence will help us reach a wider audience,” Jetour Auto Philippines Managing Director Lito Jose was quoted saying.
