MIAS WIRED: See the all-new Tiggo 7 Pro
Chery Auto Philippines gave a glimpse of the all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro compact crossover at the premier online auto exhibit in the country and in the region, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) Wired.
Chery Auto Philippines President Rommel Sytin expressed utmost confidence in bringing the latest version in the country.
"We are excited to let MIAS Wired visitors get the first look at our all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. With its luxury SUV styling and premium features, we expect it to be a game-changer in the fast-growing compact crossover segment," Sytin said.
The design concept of the Tiggo 7 Pro is credited to Chery Vice President and Global Chief of Car Design Kevin Rice. The Chery executive from Britain was also involved in building the design of Mazdas, including the MX-5, from 1999 to 2005 as Hiroshima's European Design Director, and with BMW, for the exterior design of the previous 1, 3 and 4 Series.
The all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is equipped with a new-generation 1.5L turbocharged DOHC 16-valve Euro 5 4-cylinder engine matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
For its interior, it is fitted with 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has a Mirror Link and is Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay-ready. It plays tunes through its six speakers placed around the vehicle.
One of its notable technologies is a smart key that not only starts the engine, it also turns on the air-conditioner, and opens the tailgate and windows with just a push of a button. Aside from that, it has a wireless mobile phone charger and three USB ports for all your devices.
The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro has a host of premium features such as 360-degree camera, a power tailgate, an electronic parking brake, a tire pressure monitoring system, a rear camera with front and rear proximity sensors, and a fully-digital instrument cluster.
or safety it has the usual Anti-Brake Lock system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability program (ESP), emergency brake assist (EBA), traction control system (TCS), (hill-start assist control (HAC), hill descent control (HDC), and ISOFIX tethers.
Moreover, it has a Brake Override System—automatically overriding the throttle in case the accelerator and brake pedals are depressed simultaneously as well as an Emergency Signal System, which flashes the hazard lights at high speed if the driver suddenly brakes when traveling at high speed to alert the motorist following behind.
To make the offering more enticing, the new Tiggo 7 Pro is retailed with Chery's standard 10-year/one million-kilometer engine warranty, a five-year/150,000-kilometer general vehicle warranty, free three years preventive maintenance service (PMS), and free three years roadside assistance.
However, we still have to wait for official unveiling of the vehicle next year to know the pricing.
Late last year, the Chinese automotive brand again dipped its fingers in the country, this time under United Asia Auto Group Inc. (UAAGI). After the announcement, Sytin told Carmudi Philippines that are supposed to bring electric vehicles this year and diesel engines in 2021.
