Mini Philippines has showcased the capabilities of its Three-Door offering to customers and valued partners at the track through the Mini Driving Experience 2023.
Held at the Clark International Speedway last March 25, around 100 participants joined the track day wherein they drove the vehicle to its potential under the supervision of racing veteran Georges Ramirez.
Organizers created a slalom competition and conducted some lapping around the track for the attendees, allowing the latter to enjoy and experience the Mini vehicles.
“Over 50 years of motorsport legacy lives in each Mini model, and that’s what we want our guests to experience for themselves at the Mini Driving Experience 2023,” Mini Philippines President Willy Tee Ten said.
“We’re thrilled to bring back this exclusive and exhilarating activity and look forward to reconnecting with our guests with signature go-kart driving fun.”
According to Mini Philippines, the objective of the event is to provide guests an opportunity to pick up and practice essential safety skills in a controlled environment (to enhance their driving techniques) as well as have fun driving a Mini Three-Door and experience its unique key features on the track.
“The iconic Mini Three-Door always impresses with its dynamic silhouette, compact dimensions, powerful engines, and its trademark go-kart feeling. It takes you on an exciting trip, whether you’re navigating tight city streets or accelerating on the track,” Mini Philippines General Manager Jefferson Lizardo noted.
To note, the base trim of the Mini 3-Door is equipped by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that can deliver 134 horsepower (hp) and 220 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque —allowing the vehicle to go 0-100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 8.1 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 210kph.
Meanwhile, the mid-grade version that is the Mini 3-Door S comes with a two-liter mill that provides 189hp and 280Nm of pulling power. The aforementioned trim lets the car reach 100 kph from standstill in 6.7 seconds and a peak speed of 235kph.
Lastly, the Mini 3-Door John Cooper Works, which has the same engine displacement with the mid-trim, can dish out as much as 228hp and 320Nm. It can hit 100kph from full stop in 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 246kph.
Mini Philippines is under the Autohub Group of Companies and has three dealerships in the country, located in Bonifacio Global City, Pampanga, and Cebu. Aside from the Three-Door, the distributor also offers the Five-Door, Countryman, and John Cooper Works. Mini Convertible and Clubman are available via indent order.
