Mini Philippines is set to introduce the latest special version of its Convertible offering: the Seaside Edition.
The company — under the Autohub Group of Companies — made the announcement for the arrival of the upcoming offering by way of an invitation (with Carmudi Philippines being one of the recipients).
According to Mini Philippines, the aforementioned model will be officially introduced to the local market on August 30.
“We warmly invite you to the grand launch of the new Mini Convertible Seaside Edition. Come and be one of the first to experience its open-top, wind-in-your-hair thrill, inspired by carefree adventures by the seaside,” the local distributor said in its invite.
While the British automaker’s arm in the country has yet to share the specific details of the arriving vehicle (as well as its allocation and pricing), here are some bits of information about the vehicle during its global debut last year. To recall, the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition was launched in celebration of the open-top four-seater’s 30th anniversary.
The most distinct feature of the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition is its two body color options: (Caribbean Aqua or Nanuq White).
Overseas, the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition sports double decorative stripes in white run from the side doors to the rear of the vehicle and a stylized “30” graphic on the front apron, referring to the nameplate’s anniversary.
The version retailed abroad since February 2023 comes with “Seaside” wording on its side scuttles and on the rear with graphically designed numerals in light and dark blue.
Further, the upcoming local version could also be sitting on 18-inch alloy wheels in Pulse Spoke design with weighted wheel caps that are seen on the version in other parts of the globe.
Moreover, the Philippine-spec Mini Convertible Seaside Edition might be offered in two options: the Cooper and Cooper S.
If offered to the local market, the former will likely be powered by a three-cylinder gasoline engine that can deliver a maximum of 136 horsepower (hp). On the other hand, the latter will probably be propelled by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder mill with TwinPower Turbo Technology that has the capability to provide a peak churn of 178 horses.
