Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) continues to enjoy a strong sales performance, retaining its position as the second best-selling automotive brand in the country.
In the first five months of the year, MMPC sold 16,925 units, growing by 31 percent from the 12,865-vehicle output for the same period last year.
For the month of May alone, MMPC claimed that it sold 3,229 vehicles which reflected a 69.2-percent growth from April 2021’s 1,908 units and a staggering 431-percent increase over May 2020 numbers.
Taking the lead for May 2021 sales is the Mitsubishi L300 utility vehicle with a total of 1,335 units sold—a 187-percent spike compared to last month. Following it is the Mirage G4 with 807 units rolled out to customers.
The seven-seater Xpander MPV is at third with 490 vehicles sold and the Mitsubishi Strada pickup truck sold 464 units.
In a statement, the MMPC President and CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri expressed elation over the continuous support of the local market.
“(Year) 2021 continues to be a challenge for the entire automotive industry and we are very thankful for the strong support that the market is showing toward the Mitsubishi Motors brand. We also would like to commend our dealer partners and sales executives who are exhibiting commendable work and dedication. Rest assured that we are committed to further enhance the customer experience by providing quality products and excellent service,” Oshikiri was quoted as saying.
