Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) recently turned over to the
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) five units of the
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles) and five units of the
Mitsubishi i-MiEV eletric car, along with four quick charger units, which the government agency will then distribute to its offices nationwide to be used for official business only.
The turnover ceremonies happened during the opening of the first
ASEAN Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Summit yesterday, June 29, 2017, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City between MMC CEO
Osamu Masuko and DENR Undersecretary
Jonas Leones. The deliveries reportedly form part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in February between MMC and the DENR as a "joint study into environmental load reduction using electric technologies" used by the two aforementioned environment-friendly models.
"The delivery of these vehicles and charger units is a vote of confidence in the electric technologies of Mitsubishi Motors," said Masuko at the turnover ceremonies. "We are pleased to be playing our part in helping reduce emissions in partnership with the DENR in the Philippines."
