Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) has updated the
Mitsubishi Montero Sport, giving its front and rear fascias a design that's both familiar and new.

Up front, the Montero Sport's
Dynamic Shield design concept has evolved to create "an impactful presence on the road" with its
defined triple-slat grille that blends with the headlights. The bumper, in turn,
echoes that of the Mitsubishi Strada, with its more angular design and its
integrated fog and signal lights.
For the rear, the bumper has been redesigned as well with a taller cut up the flanks, shortening the
now-smoked taillights although it now cuts deeper into the quarter panel to further accentuate the Montero Sport's width. Completing the look are
new 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Montero Sport has a
new eight-inch colored LCD meter cluster with different display types that the driver can choose from. The infotainment system also gets an
eight-inch touchscreen that's
both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-compatible. A
dual-zone automatic climate control system keeps the SUV's occupants comfortable while loading cargo at the back has become just as comfortable as well with the addition of a
hands-free access for the tailgate by simply swinging your foot in an up-down motion at the corners of the bumper. It's also worth mentioning that the height of the tailgate opening can be set to your preference.
Eight-way power-adjustable seats and an
electronic parking brake with Brake Auto Hold that automatically activates when the vehicle is stopped for more than 10 seconds are just a few more of the new additions to the new Montero Sport.

Other than the updates, the new Montero Sport retains its
4N15 2.4-liter inline-four Clean Diesel engine fitted with
VGT and MIVEC and mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with Sports Mode to put out 179 hp and 430 Nm of torque.
For now though, MMPC is offering the new Montero Sport
strictly as a 4x2, with the
4x4 and a
six-speed manual transmission being
offered next year.
The Montero Sport is available in either White Diamond, Jet Black Mica, Graphite Gray Metallic (GT 2WD), Medium Red (GT 2WD/GLS), and Sterling Silver Metallic (GLS/GLX).
The 2020 Mitsubishi Montero Sport is priced as follows:
Mitsubishi Montero Sport GLS 2WD AT –
PHP1.769 million
Mitsubishi Montero Sport GT 2WD AT –
PHP1.998 million
