The all-new Mitsubishi Colt is powered by a 1.6-liter hybrid system mated to a multi-mode gearbox, a 1,0-liter naturally-aspirated engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed transmission.The unveiling of the new car for the European market follows the footsteps of the new ASX, which was warmly received in the region.
Per the Japanese carmaker, the all-new Mitsubishi Colt is based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance CMF-B platform and is a five-door compact hatchback developed by Renault.
The said compact hatch wears a front fascia that echoes the brand’s Dynamic Shield design and is flanked by slim, full LED headlights on the upper part with L-shaped LED daytime running lights below. The rear end of the all-new Mitsubishi Colt comes with a width-emphasizing bumper that provides an agile look with a sense of stability.
Inside is a seven-inch or a 9.3-inch display where the driver can access the Multi-Sense system, which allows the personalization of the driving experience such as the drive modes (My Sense, Sport, or Eco), engine and steering response, and ambient lighting.
Additionally, would-be European owners can enjoy premium in-car audio with the Bose sound system.
Power will come from a 1.6-liter gasoline engine; two electric motors (an alternator-starter and a main motor); an automatic, multi-mode gearbox; and a 1.2-kilowatt-hour battery. Two gasoline powertrain options will also be available, which combine a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with a five-speed manual transmission or a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine with a six-speed manual gearbox.
