Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has revealed what the all-new Outlander PHEV’s production unit will look like.
According to the Japanese automotive brand, the all-new Outlander PHEV will share the same bold and distinctive styling as the all-new, gasoline-powered Outlander that was launched earlier this year in North America.
Based on the company’s new design concept, Bold Stride, the new Outlander PHEV expresses a bold, fixating presence, and solid stance.
At the front end is the evolved Dynamic Shield design flanked by a three-part lighting setup.
The side profile of the hybrid SUV is highlighted by thick horizontal accents and sharply defined character lines that extend from the front to the rear. The large-diameter 20-inch wheels, along with the muscular front and rear fender flares that house them, give the Outlander PHEV a beefier look.
At the rear is a distinctive PHEV badging and T-shaped signature taillights.
Mitsubishi said that the upcoming Outlander PHEV can be had in 10 colors including the Diamond Color series which features Red Diamond, White Diamond, and the new Black Diamond finish.
Inside, the Outlander hybrid offers a redesigned interior. The door panels feature high-quality, stitched, soft padding imitating the comfortable feel of its plush seats.
The instrument panel is purposefully designed horizontally to express spaciousness, while the center console was reworked to project a broad high-class presence.
Sales of the all-new Outlander PHEV are scheduled to begin in Japan in mid-December and in the US in the second half of 2022.
The world premiere of the all-new Outlander PHEV will take place on October 28, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. JST and will be streamed live on MMC’s global website.
