KEY TAKEAWAYS
When and where will Mitsubishi Motors Philippines display the XFC Concept?
The vehicle shall be on display at the Newport Mall in Pasay this coming June 16-18.Can the Philippines expect the production model to be released in the country soon?
Yes, the compact SUV's production model could land in the Philippines soon based on Mitsubishi Motors President and Chief Executive Officer Takao Kato announcement last year that it will be launched sequentially in the ASEAN markets.Based on the invite sent to Carmudi Philippines, the vehicle (which had its global debut in October last year) shall be displayed at the Newport Mall in Pasay this coming June 16-18.
“Be the first to see the frontier of an exciting ride. The future of Mitsubishi Motors. A new generation SUV,” the invite stated.
To recall, Mitsubishi Motors President and Chief Executive Officer Takao Kato announced last year that the new compact SUV will be launched sequentially in the ASEAN markets in fiscal year 2023. With that promise (and the upcoming local event for the Japanese automotive distributor), we might see production units on local roads soon.
In an earlier statement, the global brand noted that the Mitsubishi XFC Concept is a compact SUV that is not part of the current ASEAN lineup.
“It complements Mitsubishi Motors' wide range of products tailored to the ASEAN market — the Triton pickup truck and its derivative, the Pajero Sport midsize SUV; the Outlander and Outlander PHEV midsize SUV; the Xpander and Xpander Cross crossover MPV; and the Mirage compact hatchback and its variant, the Attrage sedan,” the company explained.
Those who will see the vehicle in the metal will notice that the Dynamic Shield concept has been updated in line with the concept.
First, the L-shaped headlights come with louver-like daytime running lights (DRL) below to complete the iconic T-shape at the front and complementing the design of its tail lamps.
Aside from that, the cabin of the Mitsubishi XFC Concept is expected to have the horizontally-themed instrument panel and soft paddings all around to ensure occupants a comfortable cocoon while inside the vehicle.
More details about the vehicle shall be shared as it develops, so keep your eyes to Carmudi Philippines for more updates.
