Mitsubishi Motors revealed that it will release a hybrid version of the Xpander multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).
Through the company’s 2022 Fiscal Year report, the Japanese automotive brand bared its plans to launch an electrified version of the country’s best-selling MPV.
While no further information is revealed, a slide from the Tokyo-headquartered carmaker’s report implied that it could come out from 2023 to 2025.
Further, it appears that the hybrid version of the Mitsubishi Xpander might retain its front fascia styling, as suggested by a photo included in the report.
The image shows a veiled hybrid Mitsubishi Xpander with its headlights turned on. On that note, we were able to make out the same slotted daytime running lamps and the T-shaped headlamps worn by the current-generation Xpander being sold in the country.
It is expected that more information is to be published when the electrified Mitsubishi Xpander nears its launch date. Once it makes its way into Philippine soil, the hybrid Xpander will compete directly with the likes of the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid, the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, and even the Nissan Kicks e-Power.
