Mitsubishi announced that the all-new Strada — also known as the Triton and the L200 in some regions — will be equipped with a newly developed ladder frame, chassis, and clean diesel engine.
According to the Japanese carmaker, the decision to use new components for the upcoming Mitsubishi Strada was rooted in the company’s goal to make the one-ton pickup truck safer, more secure, and more comfortable regardless of the weather or road condition.
In a press release, Mitsubishi said that the all-new Strada “condenses the essence of Mitsubishi Motors to provide safe, secure, and comfortable driving for various weather and road conditions around the world.”
By slapping the latest iteration of the nameplate with a newly developed ladder frame, as well as a newly designed double-wishbone front suspension and leaf spring rear suspension, the all-new Mitsubishi Strada will provide both excellent driving performance and good ride comfort at a high level.
The newly developed clean diesel turbo engine, the three-diamond brand pointed out, has improved environmental performance by significantly reducing friction loss while achieving higher output.
“Having the full model change of the all-new Triton for the first time in about nine years, we have newly developed the engine, suspension, interior, and exterior, which has resulted in significant improvements in driving performance, comfort, and safety. In addition, we have interviewed various customers about their usages and needs, and have repeatedly conducted development tests to meet the demands of a vehicle that works in a harsh environment. We are confident that this model will satisfy all customers around the world, from leisure use to commercial use. Please look forward to the unveiling of the all-new Triton,” commented Mitsubishi Motors Chief Product Specialist Yoshiki Masuda.
The all-new Mitsubishi Strada is slated to make its debut on July 26, 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand.
