The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is the range-topping variant of the Xpander MPV.
It’s touted as a new breed that redefines the segment and, honestly, Mitsubishi could be right. Donning the brand’s new Dynamic Shield front fascia, the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is arguably one of the best-looking MPVs in the market.
Flanking the sharp and aggressive-looking radiator grille are LED headlamps. Front fog lamps also line the edges of the front bumper. Its side profile features new fender arches and side body molding. Atop are roof rails and a discreet shark fin antenna. At the back is a rear garnish and LED combination taillights.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, Inc. (MMPC), also offers genuine accessories for the Xpander Cross including an engine hood emblem, side garnishes, fender garnishes, scuff plates, fuel lid garnish, and tailgate garnish.
The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Xpander Cross shares the same interior amenities as the GLS variant such as the three-spoke leather-wrapped (with brown stitching) steering wheel, leather-wrapped gear shift knob, as well as leather seats.
Taking center stage is a seven-inch touch screen infotainment system with tuner, MP3 player, USB, iPod compatibility, aux-in, Bluetooth, and Mirror Link functionalities.
Powering the Xpander Cross is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox.
Safety-wise, the Xpander Cross is equipped with the essentials like active stability control (ASC), traction control, hill start assist (HSA), ABS with EBD, Isofix tethers, and an immobilizer.
The Xpander Cross is currently priced at P1,255,000.
Mitsubishi has held the fort against the segment’s upper crust thanks to the Xpander Cross. Here are some of the segment staples that fall right in the same price point.
The Toyota Innova is one of the longest-running nameplates in the MPV segment.

The Toyota Innova 2.8L E DSL M/T is priced at P1,285,000.
The Honda HR-V is another option that would suit those looking for a sporty multi-purpose vehicle (although this one is technically an SUV). At the front are auto-leveling full-LED headlights with LED DRLs flanking its dark chrome grille. At the side are black sill garnishes while its rear offers combination lamps, a LED high-mount stop lamp at the tailgate spoiler, and black rear bumpers.
