MMDA sends aid to Abra following 7.0-magnitude earthquake
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has started sending assistance to Abra following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck the province yesterday (July 27).

Melgar shared that the first team (11 individuals) already went to Abra while the second group (composed of 28 personnel) will be sent today. The initiative, the MMDA OIC shared, was in response to Abra Governor Dominic Valera’s request.
“We will exert our efforts by mobilizing our personnel and other resources to provide immediate assistance to the quake’s victims,” he further said.
Aside from manpower, the MMDA will also bring two rapid response vehicles, an ambulance, two generator sets, 15 modular tents, 10 portable water purifiers, and a pair of portable jack hammers.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the epicenter was near the municipality of Tayum in Abra.
