MMDA starts apprehending motorcycle riders using EDSA bike lanes
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that it will start apprehending motorcycle riders who will use the bicycle lane along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) starting today.

The MMDA said that based on its monitoring on the major thoroughfare in Metro Manila, numerous motorcycle riders have been seen using the aforementioned lane. Because of this, cyclists cannot use the lane allotted for them.
In addition, the agency noted that the bicycle lane does not serve as a “fast lane” for motorcycles.
It can be recalled that in Valenzuela City, motorcycle riders were allowed to use bike lanes along the McArthur Highway stretch. Per Mayor Wes Gatchalian, the said move was meant to efficiently utilize the road and alleviate traffic congestion.
