Per MMDA Traffic Discipline Office Director for Enforcement Victor Nuñez, riders seeking cover under footbridges lead to road obstruction, which is dangerous. The aim of apprehending the riders impeding the flow of traffic is for the safety of all motorists.
In a statement, the MMDA reminded all riders to bring proper rain gear and not to be a kamote (a Filipino street term for a careless rider).
As of noontime today, around nine motorcycle riders received traffic violation tickets.
