A United States (US)-spec next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor gained more than 20 percent power after being modified by Hennesey, a Texas-based company.
The modded vehicle, now dubbed Velociraptor 500, received various modifications to enhance the high-performance midsize pick-up truck’s power figures.
Thanks to a new high-flow air induction system, a larger front-mounted intercooler, and an engine management software upgrade, Hennessey’s engineers boosted the output of the vehicle from around 400 horsepower (hp) to approximately 500hp.
Additionally, the example the tuning firm got was slapped with exterior appointments in the form of Velociraptor 500 badging, custom Velociraptor bumpers, LED off-road lights, unique Hennessey 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, and 35-inch off-road tires.
Moreover, its interior also received upgrades, namely Hennessey-embroidered head restraints, all-weather floor mats, and a unique build number plaque.
“The Velociraptor 500 Ranger is an excellent choice for the pickup enthusiast who doesn’t need the capacity of our full-size Velociraptor 600 F-150. The midsize pickup is incredibly capable and very agile… it’s actually lighter than the Bronco SUV! In addition, our 500-horsepower upgrade will noticeably improve low-end torque, and it’s got a lot more power for those who like to really push their trucks in mud, sand, or on the open road,” stated Hennessey Founder and Chief Executive Officer John Hennessey.
The Velociraptor 500 package is priced at US$24,950 (about P1.39 million).
