Hyundai has released the Stargazer multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) sometime in November 2022. Its arrival heralded the arrival of a modern-looking family vehicle that boasted likewise modern amenities.
More than willing to give the newcomer a warm welcome is the new Mitsubishi Xpander, an MPV that has earned the reputation of being a futuristic-looking ride with similarly futuristic features to boot.

The Hyundai Stargazer measures 4,460 millimeters (mm) long, 1,780mm wide, and 1,695mm tall. It has a minimum ground clearance of 185mm and a wheelbase of 2,780mm.
As for the segment staple, the Mitsubishi Xpander has an overall length of 4,595mm, an overall width of 1,750mm, and an overall height of 1,750mm. Its ground clearance is at 225mm and its wheelbase is 2,775mm.
From the outside, the Hyundai Stargazer offers an unmistakable appeal. Thanks to the horizontal light bar that sits at the top of its black honeycomb grille, the Stargazer leaves an impression one can’t easily forget.
Flanking its fascia are LED headlamps, bulb-type fog lamps, and daytime running lights (DRL).
The side profile of the Hyundai Stargazer is highlighted by body-colored side mirrors and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Its rear, on the other hand, flaunts a pair of LED and bulb-type rear combination lamps as well as a high-mount stop lamp integrated into the MPV’s spoiler. Also, it has a horizontal light bar at the back, which mimics the one at the front.
Not to be outdone, the Mitsubishi Xpander boasts a relatively modern-looking front end with the latest iteration of the brand’s Dynamic Shield front fascia bordered by T-shaped headlamps and thin DRLs on each side.

Powering the Hyundai Stargazer is a 1.5-liter engine mated to the carmaker’s Intelligent Variable Transmission. It produces 113 horsepower and 144 Newton meters (Nm) of torque.
Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Xpander gets a similarly-sized powerplant (1.5-liters) and either a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic transmission. It makes 103 horses with 141 Nm of torque.
With a more powerful setup, we give this round to the Hyundai Stargazer.
In terms of safety, the Hyundai Stargazer is equipped with features like an anti-lock brake system (ABS), hill-start assist, manual speed limit assist, electronic stability control, and child seat tethers.
The range-topping Hyundai Stargazer offers more with rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, blind spot collision-avoidance assist, a rearview monitor, and driver attention warning.
Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Xpander offers features like ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, active stability control, traction control, hill start assist, as well as a rear camera.
