More and more countries are getting the new Civic sedan, after Honda announced that it is now available at showrooms within the United States.
With a starting price of US$21,700 (or around ₱1.056 million when converted directly), the all-new 2022 Civic sedan — touted as "the best Civic ever" —is the “first in a series of new 11th-generation Civic variants that will include hatchback and high-performance Si and Type-R models.”
The Japanese automaker shared the following pricing for the Civic sedan’s four variants in the United States:
The said amount does not include the $995 (or ₱48,427.65) so-called destination charge.
Honda dropped the manual transmission on the Civic sedan as it only offers CVT (with paddle shifters on the performance lines). The lower trims have a 2.0-liter engine that is capable of providing 158hp; upper variants boast 180hp from its turbocharged 1.5-liter engine.
Safety features such as Honda Sensing, Advanced Compatibility EngineeringTM (ACETM) Body Structure, 10 airbags (including next-generation dual front airbags) are common throughout the four offerings.
Executive Vice President of National Operations at American Honda Motor Co. Inc. Dave Gardner said that the nameplate has been famous in its category.
"As America’s best-selling compact car since 1973, (the) Civic has long set the standard for its class and this new Civic raises the bar in every conceivable way — design, performance, safety and technology,” he claimed.
“Best of all, this is the most fun-to-drive Civic sedan we’ve ever made,” Gardner added.
Earlier, the Singapore market announced the coming of the latest iteration of the Civic sedan.
Earlier, a Carmudi Philippines learned from a source that Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) might be bringing the 11th-generation model this year, should business tailwinds be favorable.
