‘More powerful’ 2023 Toyota Prius to arrive in US States in Jan. 2023
Toyota has announced that the United States (US) market 2023 Prius, said to be more powerful than its predecessor, will arrive in dealerships in January.

The 2023 Toyota Prius is priced from US$27,450 (P1.528 million) to US$35,856 (P1.995 million).The Japanese carmaker also confirmed that the upcoming model will use a more powerful hybrid system that makes 60 percent more horsepower (hp), with up to 194hp on front-wheel-drive variants and 196 horses for all-wheel-drive-equipped models.
The abovementioned revised hybrid system uses a larger 2.0-liter engine mated to a planetary-type continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Combined, the 2.0-liter powerplant and its electric motors make the upcoming model the most fuel-efficient Prius ever with up to 57 miles per gallon (MPG) combined manufacturer rating (24.23 kilometers per liter).
Toyota added that its new aerodynamic exterior design adds to the 2023 Prius’ fuel efficiency. Per the carmaker, front grille shutters have been installed to optimize the inflow of air, contributing to cooling and aerodynamic performance. In addition, aero-stabilizing underbody panels are also in place to reduce drag and road noise.

Inside, the 2023 Toyota Prius packs a new multi-information display placed directly in front of the driver to help keep eyes on the road while a standard eight-inch or available 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen is mounted within easy reach.

The 2023 Toyota Prius will be offered in three variants (LE, XLE, and Limited) and will be available in both FWD and AWD models. Its pricing will range from US$27,450 (P1.528 million) to US$35,856 (P1.995 million).
In the Philippines, the Toyota Prius has yet to receive an update. For those interested, the locally available Prius is offered in a single variant (1.8-liter engine with CVT) with a sticker price of P2.436 million.
