Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially released the latest addition to its Gazoo Racing (GR) lineup — the all-new GR 86.
The highly-anticipated model is now available at TMP’s GR Performance dealerships around the country following its first local appearance at the Toyota GR Racing Festival last July and the start of pre-orders announced during 8.6 Day last August 6.
According to TMP, the newest GR model is engineered to have a greater steering feedback and sharper handling.
As earlier reported, the all-new Toyota GR 86 is offered in automatic and manual transmission variants — both equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder, horizontally-opposed, double overhead cam, 16-valve engine that can deliver a peak performance of as much as 234 horsepower and 250Nm — making it more powerful than its predecessor (which only had a 2.0-liter Boxer engine).
The all-new model features a keyless smart entry and push start systems, allowing drivers to focus on the vehicle’s robust performance.
Further, the all-new Toyota GR 86 has the following safety technologies as standard: SRS airbags, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist, and limited slip differential.
Meanwhile, the automatic transmission kind comes with GR Active Safety Suite that includes pre-collision system, automatic high beam, lane departure alert and dynamic radar cruise control.
Design-wise, the all-new GR 86 exterior and interior details are on point. The car has a duck tail rear spoiler, piano black, rear view mirrors and alloy wheels, as well as leather steering wheel.
Customers may have the leather and suede seats for automatic gearbox version and all-fabric for the manual option.
Offered in Ignition Red, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Bright Blue, and Sapphire Blue Pearl, the price of the all-new Toyota GR 86 starts at P2.328 million for manual trim and P2.499 million for the automatic.
