More videos surface of buses driving recklessly along EDSA Busway
It’s one after the other.
More public utility buses are earning the ire of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) after more videos posted over social media show more unruly driving along the EDSA Busway route.
Yesterday (Monday, July 27), the transportation department said that the Land Transportation Office, through Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante and Executive Director Romeo Vera Cruz, issued a Show Cause Order (SCO) against MSJ Tours and one of its drivers, Jervin Mamac.
The SCO was issued after a video appeared on social media showing Mamac's bus hit a barrier along EDSA Santolan area Monday morning.
Both the driver and the operator have been summoned to appear at the LTO-Law Enforcement Office at 2:00 PM today (Tuesday July 28) to explain as to why the driver’s license of the driver should not be revoked or suspended and the operator not to be sanctioned for “failure to exercise extraordinary due diligence in the selection and supervision” of the driver that figured in the case.
While waiting for the results of the investigation, Mamac’s license shall be suspended for three months.
Prior to that, the agency has already conducted the hearing on the Joanna Jesh Transport bus with plate number CAP 5133 after summoning driver Dimas Mamintal together with the manager of Joanna Jesh transit.
Also, the LTO has also started the investigation on Roval Transport Public Utility bus with plate number NDQ2621 after hitting separately several barriers along the exclusive bus lane last week.

All these three cases were documented after videos surfaced on social media.
“The DOTr reiterates that it will not hesitate to impose the same appropriate sanctions as warranted against the operator of MSJ Tours and the driver involved in this incident,” the DOTr claimed in its statement.
“Let this serve as a warning to all our road transport partners that the DOTr, LTRB and LTO will never tolerate this irresponsible and reckless manner of driving by authorized PUBs which poses a danger to life and possible damage to property,” it added.
