The oil brand collaborated with the racing team to ensure the performance of the race cars participating in the series. In a statement, Motul shared that its high-performance lubricant played an important role in the victory at Autopolis international racing circuit in Japan last May 21 .
Per Motul, the latest win —alongside the two others in the open-wheel championship — serves as a testament to the brand’s position as a leading provider of advanced lubrication technology, and their dedication to supporting the world's most elite motorsports teams.
“Team Mugen’s state-of-the-art, high-performance Red Bull Motul Mugen SF23 proved to be more than a match for the challenging circuit. The powerful Mugen engine is designed to provide maximum performance, agility, and control on the track, as well as its advanced aerodynamics, which were complemented by Motul’s flagship 300V,” the company said in a statement.
“Motul’s unchanging support for Team Mugen has been instrumental in their successes since their high-performance oils and lubricants have played a crucial role in keeping the front runners in this year’s championship running smoothly and efficiently, ensuring that the team can unleash its full potential at every race," it added.
Despite the challenging environment that the Autopolis circuit is known for (undulating terrain, fast corners, and tight hairpin, as well as unpredictable weather conditions) Motul said that it was able to provide the necessary support to Team Mugen — allowing the vehicles to withstand the demands of the track.
In addition, the two partnering firms have been working together to develop superior products catering to Mugen and Honda engines that include the Hi-Performance Oil MS-R and Hi-Performance Brake Fluid.
It can be recalled that in July last year, the French brand launched the MS-A 5W-30 and MS-A 5W-40 high-performance, purely-synthetic engine oils. The aforementioned products are optimized for Honda vehicles.
“The collaboration between Mugen and Motul has yielded impressive results, and their partnership is a powerful example of innovation and excellence in motorsports. As the competition heats up, Team Mugen can continue to rely on Motul's steadfast support, advanced technology, and high-performance oils to remain at the forefront of the Super Formula Championship,” Motul noted.
