MPT South on 'heightened alert' for upcoming holidays
Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) will be on heightened alert for the upcoming holidays as it expects an increase of as much as 15 percent in traffic volume for its concession expressways namely the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), the C5 Link segment, and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).

MPT South is expecting up to 15-percent increase in traffic volume for the upcoming holidays.In a statement, the toll operator announced that it will mobilize the company's “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko” (SMSK) motorist assistance program as early as December 23, 2022 up to January 3 next year.
According to MPT South, the CAVITEX and C5 Link portion’s SMSK program will be made in partnership with the Philippine Reclamation Authority through its operating subsidiary, PEA Tollways Corporation (PEATC).
Under the aforementioned program, Class 1 vehicles may avail the free towing service beginning 6 a.m. of December 23, up to 6 a.m. of December 26 as well as on 6 a.m. of January 1, 2023 until 6 a.m. of January 3, 2023.
Aside from that, the company said that it will boost its manpower such as RFID lane assist, ambulant tellers in cash lanes, and traffic operations personnel and its round-the-clock customer service. It also guaranteed that emergency medical service and incident response teams will be on standby.
MPT South noted that construction works along the main line will also be suspended, except for emergency repairs.
Relatedly, the tollway operator reiterated that its “Download, Drive, and Win” raffle promo is still ongoing, which is open to all individual prepaid Class 1, 2, and 3 users of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC)-run expressways such as the CAVITEX, C5 Link, Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).
MPT South shared that motorists can join the raffle by downloading MPT Drive Hub app, where they could earn points that are equivalent to raffle entries.
“We are after the safety and smooth passage of our motorists 365 days of the year, and we are grateful for their patronage all these years. With Download, Drive, and Win raffle promo, we hope to add joy to the yuletide season. We also hope to encourage the habit of ensuring sufficient load balance when passing through our toll roads, since it is now easier to monitor and reload real-time using MPT Drive Hub app,” MPT South President and General Manager Raul Ignacio was quoted as saying.
To note, the MPT Drive Hub app allows tracking of passages, calculation of toll fees, and monitoring of traffic conditions of MPTC expressways. Motorists may also request roadside assistance or send inquiries and feedback through the mobile app.
