What is the title of the activity book from MPT South?
The title of the activity that MPT South launched is "Bayani Ka".When did MPT South hold the book launch for "Bayani Ka"?
The tollway operator held the book launch last September 29.Titled “Bayani Ka”, the comic-inspired literature is aimed at instilling knowledge pertaining to road signages and help the kids get familiar with safety features of roads — especially at expressways. It also comes with quizzes, coloring pages, word searches, and other activities that will help boost their developmental skills.
Copies of the activity books are set to be handed over to various elementary schools, Department of Social Welfare and Development children’s centers and shelters for vulnerable youth, and public libraries in MPT South’s host communities in the National Capital Region, Cavite, and Laguna.
MPT South introduced the book’s main character “Cavi” during the book launch last September 29 at Paranaque City Library.
According to MPT South, the protagonist in the story (who is a seven-year-old grade school student) learned road safety practices then shared it to his friend, thus equipping them with the proper information on the road.
Gracing the event were Paranaque City Mayor Eric Olivares, representatives of Vice Mayor Joan Villafuerte and Paranaque first district Representative Edwin Olivarez, Department of Education Youth Formation Division office-in-charge Rovin James Canja, and ImagineLaw Road Safety Project Manager Atty. Daphne Marcelo.
In her speech, MPT South Assistant Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management Arlette Capistrano vowed that the company would push road safety and safe journey of children, noting that they are more prone to road traffic injuries as face-to-face classes have already started following the two-year lockdown.
“This book is also a testament of our commitment in MPTC’s support to UNICEF’s joint effort in Child Road Safety will contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 3.6 to halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic incidents, and 11.2 to provide access to sustainable transportation systems for all, improving road safety and public transport, with special attention to the needs of vulnerable populations, including children,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Paranaque City mayor expressed gratitude to the tollway operator for championing the welfare of children through the "Bayani Ka" activity book.
“Let me assure everyone that Parañaque City, under my leadership, will continue to support all efforts in educating our young ones, as well as in creating and maintaining more secured and safer access, roads, and thoroughfares for them", Olivares assured.
