Changan Motor Philippines Inc. (CMPI) shared that the new CS35 Plus was able to register above-market fuel efficiency ratings in a recently held fuel economy run.
The Chinese automaker’s local arm said that during a test conducted by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), the nameplate — which got its refreshed version last March — yielded the following results:
For the highway test route, the new Changan CS35 Plus had a fuel consumption of 21.495kpl after covering a distance of 180.652 kilometers and running at 60-80 kilometers per hour (kph) along NLEX from Balagtas in Bulacan to Tarlac City and back.
Meanwhile, the sport utility vehicle had a 15.254kpl reading after travelling 86.8 kilometers running at 60-80kph through the key thoroughfares connecting Makati City, Manila, Quezon City, and back for its urban test route.
The CMPI noted that for each run that was held last month, the crossover was tested under the following circumstances:
The vehicle even bested its previous test record. Last year, the first local version of the subcompact SUV registered 21.432kpl on the highway after it traveled 180.652 kilometers mustered 13.548kpl after it ran for 90.8 kilometers under city driving conditions.
The new Changan CS35 Plus is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline direct-inject engine that has the capacity to provide a maximum output of 160 horses and 260Nm of torque. The power mill is matched to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission system.
CMPI said that the company’s Blue Core technology provides a powerful, clean, and quiet driving experience as the optimized internal combustion system reduces fuel consumption by 20 percent and carbon emissions by 40 percent.
Further, the vehicle comes with “Safe-tech” — which is a myriad of advanced safety and protection technology.
