Sojitz Fuso Philippines (SFP) announced that its modern public utility vehicle offerings will soon be seen traversing the Cubao-Divisoria route as a total of four Canter Commute units were recently turned over to On-Us Solutions, Inc.
According to the Japanese truck maker's arm in the country, it would be the first time for its modern PUV offerings to route on the said areas.
The official delivery of the units (which was held last September 1 at the University of the Philippines-Bahay ng Alumni) was facilitated by Union Motor Corporation-Kalookan.
Per SFP, the latest vehicle handover is “in line with SFP’s commitment to contribute to the drive for development and betterment of living in the Philippines.”
The Fuso Canter Commute is powered by 3.0-liter Euro IV-compliant engine that, SFP noted, is “specifically built based on the requirements set by the Philippine National Standards.”
An air-conditioned Class 2 vehicle, the Fuso Canter Commute has the capability to fit around 30 people (three in front including the driver, 17 on the benches and 10 standing).
Further, SFP said that every FUSO modern PUV can be equipped with accessories that are required based on the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) order, such as closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and recorder, Wi-Fi, GPS tracking system, LED (Route) signage, and LCD monitor. Transport Cooperatives can also choose their automated fare collection system based on their preferences.

The government’s vision is to make the public transportation safer and more comfortable for the Filipino people, thus, the turnover of FUSO Modern PUVs Class 2 to On-Us Solutions, Inc. is a response to the administration in line with the PUV Modernization Program (PUVMP).
