One of the nameplates to have received a mid-cycle refresh recently was the Honda City.
Thanks to the said update, the brand’s former sales driver now looks more modern and sleeker compared to its predecessor. Things like a set of new headlamps, grille, front bumper, side mirror, wheels, repositioned rear reflectors, and rear diffuser gives the new Honda City a fresh new look that’s definitely up with the times.
Likewise, its interior also packs several new appointments such as better leather for its seats, body-colored accents that line almost the entirety of the car, a 4.2-inch instrument cluster, and an eight-inch infotainment system.
Power comes from a retained 1.5-liter powerplant mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that puts out 119 horsepower (hp) and 145 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
As for its price, the new Honda City sells from P973,000 to P1.128 million.
Yet another car to have been endowed with an update not too long ago was the Nissan Almera.
Now wearing an updated V-Motion front fascia design, it boasts LED headlamps and fog lamps at the front. Meanwhile, its side profiles are highlighted by a set of new 16-inch wheels, black side mirrors, and body-colored door handles. The rear offers slim taillamps that share the same design as the ones found at the front, a refined-looking diffuser, and a pair of reflectors for better visibility.
Inside, the new Nissan Almera offers its would-be owners leather seats, a leather steering wheel, and a dashboard with colored accents. It also packs a seven-inch instrument cluster and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Powering the Nissan Almera is a 1.0-liter powerplant, which can be paired with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. The said powertrain setup makes 98hp with 152 to 160Nm of pulling power.
The Nissan Almera is priced from P839,000 to P1.149 million.
The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is also another sedan that wears a new look.
Updated a few years back, the small city car bears the brand’s Dynamic Shield fascia along with a redesigned pair of multi-reflector halogen headlamps and fog lamps that give it a fierce look. It also sports simple and uncomplicated features to its side such as body-colored door handles, black side mirrors, and a set of 15-inch wheels. The rear is finished with an inconspicuous spoiler, sharp-looking taillamps, and a diffuser.
Inside, the latest iteration of the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 comes with modest amenities for the penny-pinching car buyer. Things like a leather steering wheel, fabric seats, and a dashboard with durable plastic material can be found in the cabin. It also gets an instrument cluster with analog and digital gauges as well as a seven-inch infotainment system.
Under its hood is a 1.2-liter gasoline mill mated to either a five-speed manual or a CVT. It generates 37.4 horses with 100Nm of torque.
Its sticker price ranges from P769,000-P899,000.
To note, Mitsubishi will stage its 60th-anniversary expo tomorrow at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
