Mini revealed that the new all-electric model of the Cooper nameplate will be offered in two variants: S and SE.
Per the British automotive marque, the Mini Cooper Electric S has a maximum power output of 181 horsepower (hp) while the SE can put out as much as 214 hp.
Mini also pointed out that the lithium-ion high-voltage battery of the Cooper Electric is installed in the floor of the automobile for optimum road holding and weight distribution, while also increasing the vehicle’s stability and agility. In this way, Mini redefines the brand’s hallmark go-kart feeling, consistently perpetuating the concept of urban driving fun that has been so successful for more than 60 years.
The battery capacity of the Mini Cooper Electric S is 40.7 kilowatt-hours (kWh) while the battery equipped in the SE variant is 54.2 kWh. This, the United Kingdom-based automotive brand explained, gives the new models a predicted range of between 300 and 400 kilometers, thereby noticeably extending the radius for excursions within the urban setting and beyond.
The new Mini Cooper Electric will reportedly be released in November 2023 and will join the Mini Aceman to help the brand make strides toward an all-electric future.
More information about the Mini Cooper Electric is expected to be revealed as it nears its launch date.
