How many motorists have benefited from North Luzon Expressway’s (NLEX) Connector at the Caloocan-España section?
According to NLEX, around 80,000 motorists have benefited from the toll operator’s Caloocan-España Connector section. What other Connector complements NLEX’s Caloocan-España section?
Per NLEX, the Caloocan-España Connector is complemented by the under-construction Sta Mesa section.Based on comments posted on the tollway firm's social media pages, the new Connector helped traffic conditions in C3 Road, Caloocan City, and España, Manila.
Formerly having an average travel time of around 30 minutes, the aforementioned thoroughfares now allow motorists to achieve their destinations using these roads in just five minutes.
“Tried the newly opened NLEX Connector and I felt very happy. My Manila emergency calls won’t be that stressful anymore,” Dr. Norman Galaxy Cabigas wrote in a tweet.
Providing motorists with an alternative route is the new five-kilometer expressway, which contributes to the ease of movement of people and goods from north to south, and vice versa.
“Travel time from Punturin, Valenzuela City to FEU (Far Eastern University) is now just 30 minutes,” University Professor Kevin De Jesus was quoted saying.
NLEX Corporation President J. Luigi L. Bautista is pleased with the testimonials of the public on social media and news reports.
“The comments we received from the motorists only prove that indeed NLEX Connector has been serving its purpose of increasing productivity as it helps ease the travel of motorists and commuters,” he said.
Bautista added that with the opening of this expressway, it has become more possible for people residing in the North to commute to study or work in Metro Manila. Road users can also expect the toll operator to continue its collaboration with relevant agencies to further enhance traffic management and policies on nearby local roads of the NLEX Connector.
“The Metro Manila Council as well as the local governments of Manila and Caloocan have been supportive of our initiatives to alleviate the traffic in and out of the expressway system. We continue to work together to improve congested roads,” Bautista stated.
Complementing the new España section of the NLEX Connector is the Sta Mesa section, which according to the tollway company is already 46 percent complete. The under-construction Sta Mesa Section traverses España Boulevard to R. Magsaysay Boulevard, up to the vicinity of Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
Catering to all expressway vehicle classifications, the NLEX Connector aims to be a catalyst of growth as it increases worker efficiency and provides savings for motorists, commuters, and companies. It also boosts the local economy as the new road network plays a significant role in spurring business activities and unlocking land values.
