Created utilizing a P25.6-million budget, the road project includes the construction of grouted riprap and stone masonry, provision of metal guardrails, application of thermoplastic pavement markings, and installation of solar LED lights.
According to DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Nerie Bueno, the concrete road gives access to Punta Bulata, a white beach that has pristine blue water and a quality resort that can accommodate local and foreign tourists.
“The convergence project will help draw more visitors to the scenic beaches and rich marine products in the coastal part of Negros Occidental, boosting tourism and spurring local economic activities,” Bueno was quoted as saying.
With the improved road, fisherfolks can also easily transport their products at a lower cost and residents now have better access to the national road leading to government facilities and other commercial establishments,” Bueno added.
