The next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor has finally landed in the Philippines. Its arrival means that Filipino car buyers can now get the updated version of the purpose-built truck designed to go the beaten path.
For those on the fence about driving home this souped-up truck, here’s a quick look at its yays and nays.
The allure of owning a next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor is its ability to go to places where most pickup trucks can’t.
On that note, driving a next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor will allow drivers to go to more places — specifically those without paved roads. Thanks to features like its 2.5-inch Fox shock absorbers, its metal underbody protection, and its large 17-inch allow wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, the next-generation Ranger Raptor can take you further.
Ford slapped the next-generation Ranger Raptor with a host of functional features that contribute to its improved performance and power.
Complementing the aforementioned features are performance-oriented appointments like vents on the pickup truck’s hood. Under which, is a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with e-shifter.
This setup makes approximately 200 horsepower and 500 Newton-meters of torque.
The next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor is also endowed with features that have been purposely added to help those taking the truck out for overlanding and off-roading trips.
Appointments like front and rear tow hooks, a terrain management system with seven selectable drive modes, and a 360-degree view camera, can definitely make treading through untrodden path feel like a walk in the park.
Additionally, it offers campers useful features like the two power outlets on the next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor’s truck bed.
Surprisingly, the next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor does not possess the rear step board found on the corner of the truck bed found on the next-generation Ranger models.
Equipping the next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor with the rear step board could help owners easily get in and out of the truck bed or probably put things in and out of the pickup’s rear end.
The next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor has orange-colored trims inside the cabin. These can be found on the seats, on the dashboard, and on the steering wheel. The thing is, the orange color does not change even if you choose a next-generation Ranger Raptor with an Artic White or Blue Lighting exterior color.
While it may not be a problem for most car owners, it may be an issue for OC car buyers.
