Ford Thailand has been teasing the next-gen Ranger over the past few months.
In an attempt to create as much buzz as it could to hype up the new pickup truck, Ford went as far as revealing teaser photos of the camouflaged Ranger on the desert to showing-off its unique Bronco R-inspired block-style camouflage complete with hashtags and QR codes embedded into the pattern.
Speaking of which, a member of Ford Ranger Club Thailand posted pictures of the next-gen Ford Ranger on their group's FaceBook page.
It dons the same block-style camo crafted by automotive designer Lee Imrie. Ford says that Imrie and his team used the science of optics to mask some of the pickup’s key visual secrets until the pickup truck can be fully revealed.
The photos that surfaced online show the next-gen Ranger sporting C-shaped headlamps and a two-part radiator grille reminiscent of its bigger brother, the Ford F-150. Nevertheless, its front-end retains the previous generation’s bumper and fog lights.
We’ve noticed that the upcoming Ranger is fitted with a new set of wheel arches that match its new two-tone alloy wheels.
At the rear is a similar lighting setup that mimics what can be seen at the front. The tailgate, based on previous teaser photos, appears to have some kind of lighting fixtures as well.
This outing is part of Ford’s ongoing global testing program that puts the next-gen pickup truck through its paces which Ford Thailand says will “ensure it is just right for customers, and it’s dressed up for the occasion.”
The “smartest, most capable, and most versatile Ranger yet” is set to be revealed later this year and launched in 2022.
