The next-generation Ford Territory was awarded the highest possible rating by the Chinese New Car Assessment Program (NCAP).
According to the Chinese NCAP, the next-generation Ford Territory earned a total score of 86.8 percent out of 100, which allowed the latest iteration of the nameplate to earn a five-star mark.
To earn an impressive cumulative score, the next-generation Ford Territory had to be subjected to various tests in three categories: Occupant Protection, Pedestrian Protection, and Active Safety.
Under Occupant Protection, the next-generation Ford Territory impressed the evaluators of the Chinese NCAP who tested the vehicle in side collision impact tests, low-speed post-collision neck protection tests, and child occupant tests.
Similarly, the next-gen Ford Territory left a good impression on the judges, thanks to good scores in the Active Safety category due to its suite of driver-assist technologies such as lane keeping assist and electronic stability control.
The results bid well, especially for Filipino car buyers who have eyed the next-generation Ford Territory since the local arm of the Blue Oval brand launched it at the recently held 2023 Manila International Auto Show.
