For the first quarter of the Japanese Fiscal Year, Nissan's best market was the North American region with sales up to 425,117 units.According to the Japanese automotive brand, it sold 147,929 automobiles domestically during the said months — which is considered the first quarter of the Japanese Fiscal Year. Meanwhile, it sold 940,057 cars outside of the country.
The said figures translated to a 13.8 percent jump in its domestic year-on-year performance and a 4.2 percent increase in its overseas sales operation.
When broken down, it appeared that Nissan sold 81,648 passenger vehicles and 14,045 commercial vehicles in Japan. Additionally, the Yokohama-based automotive brand sold 52,236 mini vehicles or kei cars domestically.
Outside of Japan, Nissan’s strongest market was the North American region with a total of 425,117 units sold. It was followed by China with 256,055 vehicles delivered. At third was Europe with 99,980 cars handed over to customers.
In terms of production, Nissan stated that it was able to produce a total of 1,080,544 units in the same time period. Of which, 239,985 units were built in Japan and 840,559 automobiles were assembled in Nissan’s overseas facilities.
Nissan did not say which of its models were among the marque’s best-sellers. In the Philippines, its lineup consists of nameplates such as passenger cars like the Almera, Livina, Terra, Navara, Patrol, and Urvan.
Nissan also sells new-energy vehicles in the country in the form of the Leaf and Kicks e-Power.
Finally, the carmaker offers performance-oriented models like the Z and the GT-R.
