Auto China, aka Beijing Motor Show, is easily one of the biggest and most important motor shows in the world. Naturally, carmakers want to make a big splash there, and hope that their marketing efforts at the show produce ripples that travel out to the rest of the world.
Nissan will be making such an attempt at this year’s Auto China 2020, with an exhibit that includes the Chinese debut of the all-new Nissan Ariya electric crossover, as well as the Japanese car brand’s latest innovations in the area of tech, performance and safety.
Auto China 2020 attendees can expect to see the following highlights from Nissan at this year’s event:
The all-electric Nissan Ariya’s presence at the Beijing Motor Show marks the first time the car will be shown publicly outside Japan, after its recent unveiling in Yokohama. The Nissan Ariya is expected to go on sale in China near the end of 2021.
The GT-R50 by Italdesign is the first-ever collaboration between Nissan and Italdesign, a design and engineering company and brand based in Italy. The limited edition model was developed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Nissan GT-R.
Visitors to the Nissan booth will be treated to demonstrations of Nissan’s current technologies including ProPILOT, an autonomous driving technology for use in single-lane traffic on highways, equipped in the Altima sedan, as well as the Qashqai and X-Trail SUVs.
The Nissan Intelligent Mobility experience zone lets visitors gain a deeper understanding of the company’s updated suite of driver assistance systems. For example, guests can experience an exhilarating drive, along with Nissan’s latest safety technologies, Nissan Connect technologies, as well as an e-POWER simulator.
Nissan’s Formula E race car will be on display at this year’s Auto China 2020. The car is the reason Nissan’s team placed second in the recently concluded season of the all-electric street racing championship series.
The Beijing Motor Show is now scheduled to take place at the China International Exhibition Center from September 26 to October 5, following its postponement due to COVID-19 concerns.
